OUR HISTORY...

KAPPA ALPHA PSI, a college fraternity, now compromised of functioning Undergraduate and Alumni Chapters on major campuses and cities throughout the country is realization of a vision shared by ten astute men. They are Elder Watson Diggs, John Milton Lee, Byron Kenneth Armstrong, Guy Levis Grant, Ezra Dee Alexander, Henry Turner Asher, Marcus Peter Blakemore, Paul Waymond Caine, Edward Giles Irvin, and George Wesley Edmonds.

This vision came to life on January 5, 1911, and on May 15, 1911 the fraternity was charted and incorporated in the State of Indiana as Kappa Alpha Nu. Then, some years later, on April 15, 1915 the name was changed to Kappa Alpha Psi.

From its inception, and for six years to follow, Elder Watson Diggs served as the Grand Polemarch. Elder Watson Diggs, Byron Kenneth Armstrong, and John Milton Lee served as the first Grand Board of Directors. The continuation and survival of Kappa Alpha Psi over the first years of existence is mostly credited to them.

Since the founding of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. young men have been inducted into our noble ranks, and live by our Fraternity's objectives and national motto.
